The label Jahsen Création and Puppa Lëk Sen (singer and producer) present you their new project ” Du dem “.
“Du dem” is above all a social movement, the uprising of an entire people around values such as brotherhood, social justice and freedom. It took the form of a musical project after the riots of March 6, 2020, which took place in Senegal and which cost the lives of many young people.
“Du dem” is a musical march led by the ambassadors of Galsen reggae* scattered around the globe (France, Italy, Usa, Canada, Senegal, Belgium etc….). Artists who have mobilized around a noble project to proudly wear the colors of the homeland and give voice to those who have none.
We start from the fact that no matter where you are, in Jamaica, in France, in London, in the USA, in Brazil … reggae often celebrates and sings about Africa, the continent where it draws its influences and rhythms. Paradoxically, African reggae is still unknown and not very well known on a global scale despite the large number of nuggets on the continent.
Is African reggae not selling well or is there a lack of initiative?
These questions motivated and participated in the construction of “Du dem” which was actually born in 2018 with ” THE GARDIANS “, a colorful concert that brought together big names of African reggae such as Meta and The Cornerstones, Lidiop and Puppa Lëk Sen on the stage of Cabaret Sauvage.
“Du dem” is, ultimately, a call for unity, for the awakening of African nations, but also a way to make the rest of the world discover more than ever African reggae in a fraternal and inclusive approach.
